Executive Director of Emergency Services (RN)

Description: Position Focus: Accountable for Administrative services for a 40+ Bed Emergency Department. ER sees approximately 65,000 visits annually. Responsibilities include financial planning, hiring, staff education & evaluation and regulatory compliance related activities. This individual should demonstrate excellent interpersonal & communication skills, critical thinking, and act as a role model for nursing practice. Executive Director has oversight of three direct reports. The position will report directly to the Chief Nursing Officer. Organization & Community: A hospital of approximately 500 beds centrally located in Atlanta, GA. Description: A hospital of approximately 300 beds, an hour from Binghamton NY, close to the NY/PA State Line seeks a Nurse Manager of Emergency Department. The Nurse Manager will oversee approximately 55 FTE's and will report to the Administrative Director of Emergency Services. He/She will be responsible for management and administrative functions of the Emergency Department, including patient care, scheduling and regulatory compliance. The Nurse Manager will facilitate an environment of interactive management while promoting a climate for effective performance and contributing to the development and implementation of strategic planning processes and attainment of organizational and departmental goals. A BSN is required although candidates with an MSN or in the process of obtaining one are preferred. Certification in area of specialty is also required. A minimum of three years experience in a tertiary Emergency Department or Trauma Center is required along with at least two years of management experience. Candidates must be able to demonstrate and articulate strong understanding of clinical and operational components of the Emergency Department, financial processes and recognized operational challenges to Emergency Department structures and operations.
