JOIN OUR MISSION:

The Bilingual Administrator On Duty (AOD) is responsible for monitoring safety and procedures within the residential units and overall campus.

OUR GOAL:

Our goal is to provide safe and timely reunification for each child and their family or suitable sponsor.

In partnership with the Department of Health and Human Services, our Unaccompanied Children Program provides family reunification and short-term shelter for children who have entered the United States without a guardian. Youth reside in our family-style cottages located on our beautiful 2,000-acre campus while our bilingual staff provide a safe and nurturing environment.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee campus staffing including directing and assigning work and ensuring ratios are met.
  • Ensure effective quality of care is provided including promoting and implementing a healthy well-being by ensuring clean, safe environment; ensure units are kept in accordance with standards required by regulatory agencies.
  • Monitor campus for safety and security including but not limited to staff and building checks, hourly checks within each living unit, and address any security breaches.  Document and report breaches and response taken. Monitor and assess youth transitions including to cottage, school and dining hall.
  • Identify and communicate areas of risk including but not limited to transition of youth, ratios, restraints, safety plans and injuries. Consult with management regarding risk reporting protocols, safety planning, follow up plans, and reducing future risk and program outcomes data.
  • Assist with coordinating and conducting searches for out of program youth.
  • Respond to any medical concerns for youth on campus; verify medication and treatment plan with appropriate personnel.
  • Partner with transportation staff to coordinate and/or provide transportation for off campus trips and appointments as needed.
  • Provide on-call administrative oversight.
  • Process intakes during non-traditional work hours.
  • Comply with all Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, including those for ORR, ICE and the NYS Office of Children and Family Services
  • Adhere to agency policies and procedures; follow and support agency mission, vision and values including participating in internal surveys and data collection for continuous improvement initiatives.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of an Associate Degree required. For every year of related experience, discretion can be made in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience working with high-risk youth in residential treatment setting.
  • Ability to converse in English and Spanish.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Ability to work with an economically and culturally diverse population.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and energetic culture both independently as a member of a team; must be highly effective and solution focused.
  • Ability to become TCI Certified and Red Cross First Aid/CPR Certified.
  • Must be able to work 9AM-5PM during new hire orientation to complete TCI (Therapeutic Crisis Intervention), CPR, and Sanctuary training. Must maintain TCI and CPR certification.
  • Varicella Vaccine required OR titers indicating varicella immunity OR documentation from a healthcare provider verifying previous infection.
  • MMR (Measles Mumps & Rubella vaccine required OR titers indicating immunity to all three diseases.
  • Tdap (Tetanus-diphtheria-pertussis) vaccine required.
  • Influenza vaccine required, one dose annually during flu season.
  • Covid: Being fully vaccinated means you have received a primary COVID vaccination series, plus one (1) booster COVID vaccination if you are eligible to be boosted.   You are eligible to receive a booster COVID vaccination 4-5 months following your primary COVID vaccination series, depending on which type of COVID vaccine you received during your primary COVID vaccination series.
  • Physical (Medical Exam) required.
  • Required to be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must have a current, valid driver’s license per Agency guidelines. Travel to work onsite in Canaan, NY required.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including various hours, nights, weekends, and holidays and subject to call hours.
