JOIN OUR MISSION:

The Bilingual Case Manager is responsible for assessing the needs of Unaccompanied Children in care, developing Individual Service Plans, screening for human trafficking concerns, facilitating the safe and timely release or discharge of children and youth, and documenting the provision of services in case files.

OUR GOAL:

Our goal is to provide safe and timely reunification for each child and their family or suitable sponsor.

In partnership with the Department of Health and Human Services, our Unaccompanied Children Program provides family reunification and short-term shelter for children who have entered the United States without a guardian. Youth reside in our family-style cottages located on our beautiful 2,000-acre campus while our bilingual staff provide a safe and nurturing environment.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain positive partnership with referring agency including coordinating required services for youth and families, maintaining timely and effective communication regarding case activities.
  • Assist with providing crisis intervention services for youth experiencing acute distress and dysfunctional behaviors to address safety concerns.
  • Provide supportive case work counseling to youth and families including all assessments, treatment and discharge plans.
  • Coordinate psycho-educational groups as needed.
  • Schedule and ensure youth’s home visits are goal oriented and work toward building trust, communication and healthy relationships.
  • Facilitate comprehensive treatment reviews according to Agency and State regulations.
  • Complete all State mandated and Agency documentation according to policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment including attending various internal and external meetings and case reviews.
  • Prepare court reports and attend court proceedings as scheduled and required.
  • Adhere to agency policies and procedures; follow and support agency mission, vision and values including participating in internal surveys and data collection for continuous improvement initiatives.
  • This position will comply with all Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, including those for ORR, ICE and the NYS Office of Children and Family Services.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in the Behavioral Sciences, Human Services or Social Services fields.
  • Child Welfare and/or Case Management experience is strongly encouraged.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English and Spanish.
  • Ability to work with an economically and culturally diverse population.
  • Varicella Vaccine required OR titers indicating varicella immunity OR documentation from a healthcare provider verifying previous infection.
  • MMR (Measles Mumps & Rubella vaccine required OR titers indicating immunity to all three diseases.
  • Tdap (Tetanus-diphtheria-pertussis) vaccine required.
  • Influenza vaccine required, one dose annually during flu season.
  • Covid: Being fully vaccinated means you have received a primary COVID vaccination series, plus one (1) booster COVID vaccination if you are eligible to be boosted.   You are eligible to receive a booster COVID vaccination 4-5 months following your primary COVID vaccination series, depending on which type of COVID vaccine you received during your primary COVID vaccination series.
  • Physical (Medical Exam) required.
  • Must be able to work 9AM-5PM during new hire orientation to complete TCI (Therapeutic Crisis Intervention), CPR, and Sanctuary training. Must maintain TCI and CPR certification.
  • Required to be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must have a current, valid driver’s license per Agency guidelines. Travel to work onsite in Canaan, NY, is required.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including night and weekend hours as necessary.

SCHEDULE CURRENTLY AVAILABLE:

  • Sunday through Thursday, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Must be able to be subject to On-Call.
