Clinical Pharmacist Job Description:

The Clinical Pharmacist for the Oncology Program at our 1200 Bed Academic Teaching Hospital plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality pharmaceutical care to patients undergoing oncologic treatment. This position requires a PharmD or equivalent education with a background in hospital or ambulatory pharmacy practice. The Clinical Pharmacist will report directly to the Coordinator Oncologic Pharmacy and will actively support our oncology program’s mission to provide the best possible care to our patients.

Clinical Pharmacist Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical pharmacy services to patients within the assigned specialty area, collaborating closely with the medical team and designated specialty area staff.
  • Align pharmacy services with the specific needs and requirements of the oncology program.
  • Actively participate in education and research activities related to oncology pharmacy.
  • Collaborate with pharmacy residents, students, and other healthcare professionals effectively.
  • Integrate clinical services with educational initiatives to enhance patient care.

Clinical Pharmacist Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Graduation from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy.
  • PharmD or equivalent education with hospital or ambulatory training/experience, tailored to the practice area of the position.
  • PGY2 residency or equivalent experience is required. Three to five years of experience in a relevant practice area can be considered equivalent to each year of residency training.
  • Board certification in oncology pharmacy (BCOP) is preferred.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with medical, nursing, and pharmacy staff, pharmacy residents, and students is essential.
  • Knowledge and understanding of general hospital and outpatient clinic operations.
  • The capability to seamlessly integrate clinical services with educational activities.

Additional Requirement:

  • Must be a Registered Pharmacist in the state of Florida or eligible for registration.
