Manager Trauma Program  Position Overview:

As the Manager of the Trauma Program, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest quality of trauma care within a Level I Trauma setting. Reporting directly to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), this role will require you to oversee and lead the Trauma Program, encompassing planning, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of systems that facilitate optimal trauma care delivery. You will be responsible for ensuring that the Trauma Program complies with all relevant hospital, local, state, and federal regulations. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with the Trauma Program Medical Director and serve as a vital link between the hospital, state agencies, and local EMS providers.

 

Manager Trauma Program  Key Responsibilities:

  • Trauma Program Oversight: Direct and oversee the Trauma Program, including planning, implementation, evaluation, and revisions to enhance trauma care delivery.
  • Compliance Assurance: Ensure that the Trauma Program remains in compliance with all relevant hospital, local, state, and federal requirements and regulations.
  • Collaboration: Work in tandem with the Trauma Program Medical Director to ensure progressive and efficient trauma patient care from pre-injury to post-discharge.
  • Liaison Role: Act as a liaison between the hospital, state authorities, and local EMS agencies to facilitate effective communication and coordination in trauma care.
  • Team Leadership: Provide leadership and guidance to the trauma program team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Quality Improvement: Apply your knowledge of trauma rules and program development to continuously improve the quality of trauma care services.
  • Educational Programming: Develop and implement educational programs related to trauma care for staff members.
  • Project Management: Manage multiple projects and initiatives related to trauma care, demonstrating strong organizational and problem-solving skills

Manager Trauma Program  Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required. Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Current RN license in the state of Florida.
  •  A minimum of 5 years of professional nursing practice experience with demonstrated clinical skills. At least 2 years of experience at a designated Level I trauma hospital or 2 years of management experience.
  • Must possess TNCC certification (instructor preferred), PALS, ACLS, and BLS certifications.

 

Leadership Skills: Demonstrated leadership skills with knowledge and application of trauma care principles, program development, quality improvement methodologies, and educational programming.

Self-Directed: Ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives independently and be self-directed in your work.

Organizational Skills: Possess sound organizational skills and a strong ability to solve problems effectively.

Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
